August has been a busy month for us both inside and outside the Corral offices. This issue once again has an insert, this time previewing the All American Quarter Horse Congress taking place in October. We have included a really slick at-a-glance reference guide to the many events taking place during the three week show. If you are trying to figure out which days to attend Congress based on your favorite events, start with this guide. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Michelle, our Arts and Composition Director, Andi, Mary and Joe, our super sales people, our advertisers, and the Ohio Quarter Horse Association for making this insert possible.
Heading outside the office, Joe has been on the rodeo and horse show road. I’ve been accompanying him to most of the events he is announcing to help with the driving and music. I have to admit, I just can’t pull the long hours like I used to…I’m exhausted!
We also attended the Ohio Quarter Horse Association Trail Ride at Tri-County Trails in East Sparta, Ohio. Unfortunately, due to our schedule we were only able to attend one day instead of the entire weekend. What a fun event, thanks to the combined efforts of Todd Salome from OQHA, Cynthia Bauman and the good folks at TRI-CO. We were so impressed with the campgrounds, good people and trails that we are planning on becoming members. I encourage you to check out the facilities and trails at Tri-County Trails for a fun riding experience with your horse. And don’t forget the other horse camps in the region with miles of trails to explore. These camps are a terrific way to get on the trails with your favorite equine partner and enjoy the company of other like-minded folks.
September won’t be any easier on the schedule but loads of fun as we finish up the rodeo season, compete in a trail challenge, do a little Cowboy Mounted Shooting, ride Gettysburg with the Pennsylvania Quarter Horse Association and take part in the huge Tough Enough to Wear Pink horse show. Are you headed to the Cleveland Mounted Unit Fundraiser Downtown Ride? If so, be on the lookout for two of our Corral staff members Mary Vedda and Andi Boss.
If you see us on the road, please stop to say hello. Better yet, come out and ride with us. Either way, we love seeing and hearing from you!
May God bless all the trails you ride,
