After years in the making, Cashmans Horse Equipment is proud to introduce the world’s first stainless steel manure spreader. Cashmans, a dealer for Millcreek Manufacturing for over 20 years, has built a great relationship with the engineers at Millcreek who design and fabricate the spreaders. Over the years, feedback from customers—both positive and negative—is regularly communicated between the two companies. The latest collaborative effort has resulted in the creation of what is being termed ‘The Ultimate Manure Spreader.’ Cashmans and Millcreek are proud to introduce the Millcreek SS Series—a stainless steel version of their already popular spreader line of products.
Ed Cashman explains, “After years of selling and maintaining Millcreek manure spreaders, we, probably more than anyone else in the industry, know every aspect about the durability of every component that makes up these spreaders. Taking suggestions from our mechanics and customers about any issues, Millcreek designers re-engineered affected components to improve durability. Because spreaders are exposed to the harshest of environments, our main goal was to eliminate corrosion. Early on, we introduced a powder coat finish and later we added a rhino lining—both are effective at reducing rust, but do not eliminate it completely. We also worked on improving the sealed bearings in order to eliminate the need to grease the moving parts. Years ago, the biggest issue that we had was with the flat apron chain links that would corrode and break. Working with Millcreek, we changed over to the heavy t-rod apron chain, which now comes standard in all Millcreek Compact Spreaders. And now, after eight years of brainstorming, improving on an already excellent line of spreaders has become a fun challenge for us. We asked ourselves recently, “What would comprise The Ultimate Manure Spreader?” The answer is the Millcreek SS Series. This spreader is incredible. It includes an all stainless steel box, apron chain, and beater bar. We have yet to find any other material to hold up and last like stainless steel. Millcreek is the first in the world to develop an affordable stainless steel spreader.”
“We’ve made the best even better,” said Brandon Rottmund, Millcreek Sales & Technical Support. “The Millcreek SS is a giant leap forward in manure spreader build and design. We are very excited to bring this innovative product to market because we understand the need for functional equipment that works hard on a farm and provides great value.”
Cashmans will offer all the models as they become available. We already have the 27 in stock and will display it at the Equine Affaire April 10-13 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus.
