Have you been to an ACTHA/PATH Internationl Shamrock Ride? If so, you have seen one or more of these amazing programs and met some of the gifted and caring staff and their volunteers. Every year, more than 7,400 PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) members help 56,000 children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional challenges find strength and independence through the power of the horse. Plus, PATH centers often give a new lease on life to horses who have lost their jobs.
Dozens of PATH International centers have begun to host their 2014 ACTHA rides, and the effort is a modified version of ACTHA’s standard events:
1. The events have been simplified to accommodate the busy schedules of certified staff members at each PATH center.
2. A new experimental division has been inserted that allows PATH participant riders to compete.
3. Reach out efforts to local communities to gain support and awareness of what is in their own backyard are being synchronized with ACTHA’s national marketing effort and far too many wonderful supporters to name here.
